This interview with James Wilson, a retired math teacher, is worth listening to. He gives good advice to parents who ask how they should go about making sure their kids are learning the math that isn’t being taught in schools. I’ve worked with James for many years, and he and I wrote comments on the initial and final drafts of the Common Core standards. He gives very good advice.
